JSM Airport Services is seeking a highly motivated Control Systems Technician. Responsibilities: Perform all the duties assigned to the Entry Support Mechanics (ESM's) and Machinery Maintenance Mechanics (MMM's), in addition to the following routine inspections, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and emergency maintenance of complex components within the system based on an established maintenance programPerform cleaning of all parts of the BHS, as well as all surrounding areasResolve difficult controls, electrical, and mechanical problemsTroubleshoot, repair, replace, and rebuild complex electro-mechanical systems and conveyor components including, but not limited to, programmable logic controllers, input and output modules, electrical switches, variable frequency drives, 110V AC and 24V DC controls devices, automatic tag readers, electrical control panels, 110V - 480V AC components and motors, gearboxes, bearings, rollers, sheaves, hydraulic systems, conveyor belting, clutch brakes, tools, independent carrier systems, and other complex devices using basic hand tools, power tools, welders, and specialized mechanical and electrical toolsClear and reset mechanical, electrical, and controls faults, as well as baggage jams, which may require physically moving baggage during these failuresRead and interpret manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged componentsProvide on-site training and competency evaluations of Machinery Maintenance Mechanics (MMM's) and Entry Support Mechanics (ESM's)Safety and Compliance Training as Required.Collateral duties as requiredQualifications: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand EnglishMinimum of three (3) years of mechanical experienceCapable of working without direct supervision for more than fifty (50%) of the timeCapable of completing a task with minimal supervision (after proper training)Fully proficient with, and capable of operating, mechanical hand toolsPhysical Requirements: Able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of timeAble to sit, stand, push, pull, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, climb, or crawl on a frequent basisAble to frequently lift/move items that may range in weight up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 poundsAble to withstand exposure to hot, cold, wet, or other weather-related conditionsThe applicant must be able to successfully pass a drug screen (we promote/maintain a Drug Free Workplace), a driver's license check, a background check, and required federal fingerprinting, security threat assessment, as well as airport security badging, for continued employment.Affirmative Action, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Equal Employment Opportunity at JSM:At JSM, we recognize that Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is Good for Business.Our goal is to attract good job candidates, retain our best employees, and create a more engaged and productive workforce.
