SCA Sr Mechanic Location: Dupont WA 98433 Contract: 6+ Months contract with possibility of extension and FTE Shift: Standard (Mon to Fri) Job Description Primary Role Key responsibilities include CMMS management, spare parts and consumables management, prioritizing and coordination of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance and repair activities and identifying and managing subcontractors to ensure contract compliance. Ensures compliance with equipment O&M manuals and manufacturer recommendations, prompt updates of record drawings after any modification is implemented and performs regular inspection and calibration activities. Performs preventive and corrective maintenance and repair activities necessary for the adequate care and maintenance of the water treatment facilities including mechanical equipment, systems, buildings, and property including installation of equipment on site. In addition, the duties include fabrication and construction of minor equipment and facilities as may be required in water treatment operation. Works in direct coordination with the Operations Supervisor and under the direction of the General Manager to perform maintenance activities in accordance with all environmental and health and safety practices in a timely manner and within the department's budget. Key Accountabilities Coordinate all maintenance activities so they are performed in a timely manner and in accordance with the department's budget including all internal and external maintenance-related activities such as materials, equipment, services, vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, labor and health and safety. Interacts with General Manager, supervisors, vendors and subcontractors regarding repair and maintenance activities and contract compliance topics. Prioritization, coordination and direction of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance and repair activities and performance of regular inspection and calibration activities. Ensures compliance with equipment O&M manuals and manufacturer recommendations and prompt updates of record drawings after any modification is implemented. Accountable for ensuring work orders are entered, assigned, and closed promptly and for ensuring adequate levels of spares and consumables are maintained at all times. Education High School graduate or equivalent. Skills Strong interpersonal skills, organizational and budget management capabilities. Proficient using Microsoft applications and CMMS software packages. Must understand machinery and its operation and be able to prevent failures and diagnose and correct trouble when it occurs Must have a logical mind, ability to organize a job in an efficient manner and efficiently direct mechanics when needed; must be trustworthy, conscientious, and have the proper regard for the cost and use of time, materials, tools and equipment. Must be able to assess cost benefits of in-house repairs versus the use of outside resources Must have ability to work well with other employees and supervisors Must be able to work from drawings, schematics, and manufacturer specifications, and have a working vocabulary of procedures, parts and equipment Must have legible handwriting, be able to write reports, and be able to do such computations and drawings as may be encountered in conducting the day-to-day business Pumping Equipment Ability to maintain, troubleshoot and repair or replace various types of pumping equipment and systems in a wide range of sizes and capacity Electric Wiring and Motor Care Ability to maintain and troubleshoot electric motors, install conduit and wiring, troubleshoot electrical and control problems. Instrument and Control Experience with installation, maintenance, service calibration of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric controls and instruments. Additional experience preferred in the areas of welding, pipefitting, metalworking, carpentry, millwork, valves, etc. Able to adequately coordinate maintenance activities with operations group to minimize impact to production Monitors and manages critical spares inventory and support the selection and ordering process of new equipment and replacements parts. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge: Minimum of two (2) years' experience (water supply or wastewater treatment field preferred). Understanding of water treatment processes Understanding SCADA system as it relates to the water treatment facility Understanding of hydraulics, mechanical, pipe and electrical repairs Must be available for callout, overtime, and weekend duties. Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the position (lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, work in confined spaces, etc.) Ability to work with equipment manufacturers to resolve issues with installed equipment and identify suitable make and model for equipment replacement Capable of quickly learning all company's standards for Health and Safety, environmental, local and state regulations compliance. Experience Minimum of two (2) years' experience in commercial, industrial or water treatment industry. Experience with 3 phase high voltage motor controls, electrical construction, instrumentation, computer controls, SCADA, CMMS, PLC's, VFD's, ladder logic, and power distribution maintenance. Experience with various types and sizes of motors and pumps. Certifications & Licenses Valid state issued driver's license
