The Facilities Tech will serve as a key member of the maintenance team with a primary focus on maintaining, troubleshooting issues, and repairing of mechanical and electrical issues. Primary focus on HVAC troubleshooting and repair is required. Role will trouble shoot the electrical side of essential company equipment as well as make industrial refrigeration repairs. Additionally, tasks will be assigned daily to maintain campus grounds and assist facility team members with various projects.SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:Troubleshoot and maintain fleet of HVAC units across campusDiagnose and troubleshoot problems and replace or repair parts.Proactively perform regular preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment and facilities.Collect, analyze and summarize maintenance related information and trends to drive efficiencies, streamline processes and support business decisions.Assist in space changes and moves, as well as office furniture needs and ergonomics, including estimating costs, managing schedules, purchasing activities and installation.Other duties as assignedRequirementsEducation and Training:Associates Degree or equivalent work experience in facilities maintenanceMechanical trade based experienceHVAC repair knowledge and training preferredKnowledge and skills:Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and HVAC systemsBasic computer knowledgeAdvanced data analysis using Excel or similar programStrong analytical problem-solving skillsAbility to leadService oriented attitudeSelf-motivatedAble to maintain focus on key objectivesFlexibility working alone or alongside team membersExperience:Prior experience in facilities related positionAble to read and understand complex electrical, mechanical and automation systemExperience repairing HVAC units preferredPhysical Requirements:Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and other office equipmentAbility to speak and hear well enough to communicate clearly and understandably with sufficient volume to ensure accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the phone and in group settingAbility to stand for extended periods of time (6 or more hours)Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 poundsSufficient physical dexterity to walk, bend, stoop or squatMust be able to access and navigate all areas of the facilitiesMust be able to access all parts of the company equipmentAbility to operate company vehicles as necessaryAbility to work in outdoor weather conditions The essential physical and mental requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform essential functions of the job.
