POSITION SUMMARY The HR & Benefits Manager serves as a strategic Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) while also providing hands-on leadership and administration of core HR operational programs. This role partners closely with leaders across the organization to align people strategies with business objectives, mitigate risk, and enhance team member engagement, while directly managing and administering Leave of Absence (LOA), Workers' Compensation (WC), and the company's benefits programs. The HR & Benefits Manager balances strategic consultation, compliance oversight, and day-to-day HR administration to ensure consistent, compliant, and high-quality HR services. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Serves as a strategic Human Resources Business Partner to leaders across the organization, providing consultation and guidance on people strategy, organizational effectiveness, employee relations, performance management, investigations, and culture and engagement initiatives. 2. Proactively identifies workforce risks, compliance concerns, and organizational opportunities; develops and implements HR solutions aligned with business objectives and operational needs. 3. Investigates, resolves, and documents employee relations matters in a fair, consistent, and legally compliant manner, partnering with leadership and legal counsel as appropriate to mitigate risk. 4. Manages and administers Leave of Absence, ADA accommodation, disability, and related programs in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, collective bargaining agreements, and company policies; serves as a subject matter expert on the interaction between LOA, ADA, paid time off, workers' compensation, and disability benefits. 5. Oversees and administers the workers' compensation program, including claims management, carrier and vendor relationships, return-to-work coordination, regulatory compliance, recordkeeping, reporting, and cost-containment strategies. 6. Manages and administers all company benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, EAP, and related offerings; oversees eligibility, enrollment, open enrollment, vendor management, invoicing, audits, and reconciliations. 7. Ensures benefit, leave, and workers' compensation programs comply with applicable laws and regulations including HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, ADA, OSHA, and state-specific requirements; ensures timely and accurate filings, reporting, and documentation. 8. Maintains accurate HR, benefit, leave, and workers' compensation data within HRIS and related systems; partners with payroll, finance, IT, and vendors to ensure data integrity, system functionality, and accurate interfaces. 9. Develops, updates, and ensures consistent application of HR policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures; provides training and guidance to leaders and team members on HR programs and compliance requirements.10. Analyzes HR, benefit, leave, and workers' compensation data and metrics; prepares reports, identifies trends, and makes data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement. 11. Communicates HR programs, benefits, and policies clearly and effectively to team members and leaders; supports education initiatives and responds to escalated or complex inquiries. 12. Participates in and leads continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance HR service delivery, operational efficiency, compliance, and the overall team member experience. 13. Maintains professional knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and regulatory changes; demonstrates sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality in all matters. 14. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Minimum of five years of progressive experience in human resources, with demonstrated experience in HRBP functions, benefits administration, and compliance. Strong working knowledge of employment law, employee relations, LOA/FMLA/ADA, workers' compensation, and benefits administration. Experience administering benefit programs and working with HRIS systems. Proven ability to balance strategic HR partnership with hands-on operational execution. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Professional certifications such as SHRM, PHR, CEBS, or CBP are preferred. EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training, and experience. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES May have direct or indirect supervisory responsibilities depending on department structure and organizational needs. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to communicate effectively, in English, both verbally and in writing, with personnel at all levels of the organization, outside representatives, and members of the community. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to maintain basic financial records of expenditures of the department/center/community. Ability to understand budgets. REASONING ABILITY Ability to accurately evaluate, troubleshoot, and problem-solve situations to meet the needs of leadership and team members. Develop training for team member needs and evaluate results. Additional benefits include Employee Assistance Program and Education Reimbursement program. PTO: AL/PCI Salary: Accrue PTO at rate of 0.0615/hour during their first year/16 days. PCI Hourly: Full-time and Part-Time team members (over 20 hours/week) accrue PTO at rate of 0.0423/hour during their first year.
