Job Position: CNC ProgrammerLocation: FAIRVIEW, OR Pay Rate: $33-40/hr DOEShift: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm, or Monday-Thursday 5:30am-4:00PM. +OT when neededSUMMARYResponsible for developing CNC machine programs, fixtures, and tooling solutions for the plant floor. Work closely with Production Management personnel, and the other CNC Programmers to discuss production needs and projects.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSProgram multiple CNC machines to produce parts to specifications.Read and interpret blueprints and design models.Specify the machining process and choose cutting tools for the job.Specify, design, and/or build setups and fixturing for parts.Create documentation for the machine operators to use for the program.Prove out current and/or new programs at the machine.Inspect parts visually and mechanically for conformance to the print and process dimensions.Troubleshoot issues during the manufacturing process.Complete quality control tests on parts.Help train staff on machine operation procedures.Maintain documentation, and programming file revision levels, as well as back up files.QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma or GED requiredTwo-year Machining Technology degree preferredHorizontal mill setup experience -Preferably FANUC ControlsHorizontal Lathe with live tooling experienceRead and understand blueprints / Geometric Dimensioning and TolerancingUnderstand G & M code, as well as proficiency with Macro-B OperationsExperience with CAD/CAM and Simulation software - Solid Edge, MasterCAM, NCSimul preferredWorking knowledge of speeds, feeds, and toolingAble to operate forklift, overhead crane, and other lifting devicesExperience in Machine Shop MathGood communication skills and attention to detailExperience with MS Office programsStrong skills working with PC file systems.WORKING CONDITIONSMost work performed is in a shop environment without climate or noise controls. Exposure to heat, noise, dust, fumes will occur.Programs are often proven out on Fridays when the machine is not manned for production.The individual may encounter pressure in meeting customer needs, balancing competing deadlines and resource constraints, although guidance is available from leaders at the site. Situations must be handled in a manner that meets customer needs and does not negatively impact customer satisfaction. Customers are both internal and external.PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand/walk for the duration of the shift. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
