NNP Apprentice

Full-Time 601 Children's Lane Advanced Practice Days/Nights 49.7600 Through 74.6200 * GENERAL SUMMARY * Preceptorship not to exceed 6 months during which time successful completion of training program and attainment of NNP Certification will be achieved. The NNP Apprentice is instrumental in the design, coordination, education, evaluation and/or implementation of programs related to the patient care process. Reports to department management. * ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Functions in an advanced clinical role to provide care/education to a group of staff, patients, families and/or community. * May function in a variety of roles with specific duties for an individual department, medical specialty or program. * Performs other duties as assigned. * LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS * Current Virginia state license as a Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license. * CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire. * MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS * Requires an advanced degree from a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program. Must provide record of a completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript for those areas performing complexity testing. * Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired through the completion of an accredited School of Nursing. * Pediatric experience preferred. * WORKING CONDITIONS * Normal patient care environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
