SummaryThe International Spy Museum is seeking an engaging educator to deliver high-quality programs for students, educators, and youth/family audiences. Ideal candidates demonstrate excellent teaching and communication skills and a strong understanding of informal, museum-based learning.Success TraitsExcellent teaching ability with demonstrated skills in using innovative techniques in informal settings for a variety of learnersEnjoys working with children of all agesExcellent attention to detail and time managementFlexible and willing to adapt as neededProven ability to work collaboratively with othersGood at problem solving and thinking creatively Adaptable and calm in fast-paced, public-facing environmentsResponsibilitiesTeach programs (virtually and in person) for a variety of youth audiences including students, teachers, families, and Girl ScoutsProvide administrative assistance for booking school groups and correspondence with group liaisonsSupport program scheduling, attendance tracking, and collection of program data and feedback Manage supplies for youth programmingSupervise all aspects of the Learning Center physical space including cleaning, maintenance, and booking Assist the Youth Education Team with new program development and existing program refinementUpload items onto SPY's Digital Learning HQ and make sure site is up to date Occasional weekend teaching(Scout workshops)Support large-scale public programs and festivals(including occasional weeknights and weekends)Collaborate with Programs staff, other SPY departments, and external partnersParticipate in training, content briefings, and professional developmentSkills PreferredStrong teaching ability to a variety of ages and group sizesExperience developing educational resourcesExcellent oral and written communication skillsExcellent attention to detail and accuracyStrong planning, organization, and time-management abilities Proven ability to work collaboratively with othersCreative and animated teaching style that engages learnersAbility to think on your feet and adapt programs in real timeMinimum Education RequiredMaster's degree in education/museum education preferred.
