Aerospace Assembly TechnicianLocation: Greater Los Angeles AreaIndustry: Aerospace ManufacturingShift: Day Shift (M-F / 7:00am - 3:45pm)Pay Range: $20.00 - $30.00 per hourPosition OverviewA precision aerospace manufacturing company in the Greater Los Angeles area is seeking an Assembly Technician to support production of structural components used in aviation and defense applications.This role involves performing mechanical assembly tasks, installing hardware and inserts, and ensuring components meet engineering and quality requirements. The position requires attention to detail, the ability to follow technical documentation, and the use of common assembly tools and equipment in a production environment.Key Responsibilities Perform mechanical assembly operations on machined components and subassemblies. Install rivets, fasteners, bushings, and hardware according to engineering drawings and specifications. Use assembly tools and fixtures such as Clecos, jigs, and match-drilling setups to properly align and secure components. Install threaded inserts including helicoils and similar hardware. Apply adhesive bonding hardware, nut plates, and studs as required. Install bushings and components using appropriate installation techniques. Apply sealants and corrosion protection materials where required to protect assemblies. Perform part marking and identification in accordance with customer or engineering requirements. Perform minor finishing or touch-up work such as protective coating touch-up or sealant application. Use conventional shop equipment when required to support assembly operations, such as drilling, honing, or light machining. Apply masking or protective materials to prevent damage to finished surfaces. Use calibrated tools such as torque wrenches, calipers, gauges, and other inspection instruments when required. Perform occasional material cutting or preparation tasks to support assembly operations. Follow documented assembly procedures and verify work instructions before performing tasks. Record work activity through manufacturing travelers or electronic production systems.QualificationsEducation High School Diploma or equivalent required Technical or vocational training in manufacturing or mechanical assembly preferredSkills & Experience Experience performing mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools Basic computer skills including Windows and Microsoft Office applications Ability to read and follow assembly instructions and engineering drawings Familiarity with aerospace or precision manufacturing practices is preferred Exposure to AS9100 quality standards, ITAR compliance, or counterfeit parts awareness is beneficial Ability to work effectively in a team-based production environmentProfessional Skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality Ability to follow written procedures and maintain documentation Strong communication skills in English Ability to work both independently and with a team Commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standardsPhysical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods (4-8 hours per shift) Frequent use of hands to handle parts and tools Occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching Ability to lift up to 25-40 pounds when required Vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustmentWork EnvironmentThis role is performed in a manufacturing production environment and may involve: Working around mechanical equipment and assembly tools Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels Occasional exposure to dust, fumes, or airborne particles Use of hand tools, pneumatic tools, and assembly fixtures
