Challenging the norm and innovating better methods is core to our approach Job Summary The Senior Project Controls Analyst is responsible for supporting analytical and project controls throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and contractual requirements. This position monitors project progress, investigates cost and schedule variances, assesses financial risk, and identifies opportunities to improve project performance. Working closely with Preconstruction, Operations, Project Management, and Finance, the Senior Project Control Analyst evaluates financial outcomes, enforces project control standards, and supports change order management. This role also facilitates budget reviews, cost forecasting, and process optimization initiatives to enhance project efficiency and profitability. Responsibilities and Duties Essential Functions: * Maintain a complete understanding of all contract requirements, including scope, design, schedule, change orders, and notice requirements. * Identify, assess, and communicate financial risks related to cash collections, subcontract buyouts, material purchasing, labor requirements, and schedule constraints by thoroughly reviewing contracts. * Lead project budget review meetings to ensure alignment with execution strategy and financial objectives. * Monitor and forecast project costs, providing cost-at-completion projections to minimize costs and maximize profitability. * Investigate budget vs. actual job cost variances, determine root causes, communicate findings with stakeholders, and implement corrective actions. * Analyze project schedules and recommend corrective actions to maintain project timelines. * Identify, track, and manage owner change order opportunities to optimize financial outcomes. * Facilitate project review and close-out meetings with senior management, ensuring lessons learned are documented and applied to future projects. * Lead process and workflow optimization initiatives * Collaborate with the finance team to support the annual financial audit process. * Support accounts receivable in collecting outstanding project-related payments. * Enforce consistent compliance with company project control principles and standards. * Provide mentorship and training to junior project control team members, fostering their professional growth. * Conduct training sessions for project execution teams on project control principles, best practices, and company standards. * Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor. Qualifications and KSA Education: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related discipline. Experience: * 3 to 7 years of experience in construction project controls, cost management, or scheduling. * Demonstrated ability to make data-driven decisions and communicate effectively across business disciplines. * Experience developing and/or refining relevant systems, reports, and policies and procedures. Certifications/Licenses: * Project Management Professional (PMP) or AACE Certified Cost Professional (CCP) is preferred but not required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. * Experience with scheduling and project management software (Microsoft Project and Procore preferred). * Expert knowledge of standard project management practices, including project planning, scheduling, cost estimation, and risk management. * Strong communication skills (written and verbal) for presenting data and collaborating with stakeholders. * Ability to take initiative, work autonomously, and contribute strategically to the company's long-term success. * Deadline-oriented, highly organized self-starter with the ability to move projects forward independently. * Strong analytical, conceptual thinking, and problem-solving abilities. * Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with keen attention to detail and a proactive approach. * Willingness to take ownership of team and personal outcomes, demonstrating extreme accountability, integrity, and ethical decision-making. * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with demonstrated leadership skills. * Commitment to upholding high standards of business conduct and maintaining a positive, professional attitude. Working Conditions - Mental Demands / Physical Demands / Environmental Factors * Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computers, peripherals, and telecommunication devices. * Posture: Primarily sitting, with occasional standing and walking. Ergonomic setup is encouraged to reduce strain. * Motion: Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing and handling office equipment. * Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds), such as laptops and documents. * Environment: Primarily indoor, climate-controlled office environment. For remote or hybrid roles, maintaining a suitable home office environment is expected. * Travel Requirements: Occasional travel to job sites, company meetings, or industry events as needed. * Mental Demands: Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and responsibilities simultaneously, often in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain composure and productivity under pressure. High levels of concentration and attention to detail are required.
