Position Title: Security SupervisorDepartment: Safety & SecurityReports to: Director of Safety & SecurityPosition SummaryThe Security Supervisor is responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment across Philadelphia Orchestra & Ensemble Arts (POEA) facilities while overseeing and directing Security Officers on duty. This role provides leadership, direction, guidance, and accountability to all Security Officers and ensures that all Safety & Security Department policies and procedures are consistently followed and enforced.ResponsibilitiesSupervise and manage security staff, including training and performance evaluationsAssign posts and duties to security personnel based on performance, operational needs, and special eventsOversee day-to-day security operations and ensure compliance with established policies and proceduresAddress staff violations and take appropriate corrective action, including verbal or written warnings when necessaryEnforce security policies and procedures consistently to maintain a secure environmentConduct shift briefings to communicate important information and maintain situational awarenessCoordinate with internal partners as needed (e.g., Audience Experience, Production, Facilities) to support event operationsMonitor security activities, including patrols, access control, surveillance, and incident responseProvide a visible and approachable security presence to deter potential threats and address concerns promptlyConduct regular patrols to monitor and assess the security of POEA venues and operationsPerform regular inspections to identify and address potential security vulnerabilitiesInteract with employees, visitors, clients, and guests in a professional and courteous mannerProvide ongoing training for security personnel on security protocols, emergency response procedures, and the use of security equipmentMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED requiredSupervisory experience in a security environment preferredAbility to follow chain of command communications and work in a structured environmentStrong working knowledge of security operations, safety practices, and security enforcement proceduresDemonstrated leadership and decision-making ability Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to train, coach, and evaluate Security Officer performance effectivelyProficiency in Microsoft OfficeAbility to remain calm, collected yet decisive in routine, emergency and crisis situationsConsistently dependable and reliable in terms of attendance, punctuality, and performance Neat appearance to include the wearing of professional business attire, business casual attire or assigned uniforms with badges, if required by the organizationStrong customer service orientation demeanor a must Work Environment and Requirements:Work occurs in office spaces, performance venues, and public areas with varying noise, lighting, and environmental conditionsFrequent movement between campus buildings and multiple building levelsAbility to stand and walk for extended periodsAbility to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. occasionallyAbility to stoop, crawl, climb stairs and navigate uneven or confined spacesAbility to work outdoors and in all weather conditions, when requiredAbility to wear personal protective equipment, as necessaryAbility to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts, as neededResume and cover letter are required when applying for this position.
