Description A leading national manufacturer of building materials is seeking a Sales & Use Tax Coordinator to support its growing tax and compliance operations. Position Overview: The Sales & Use Tax Coordinator will assist with indirect tax compliance across multiple states, ensuring accurate and timely filings, reconciliations, and documentation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, researching tax regulations, and supporting a fast‑paced corporate accounting environment. Key Responsibilities: + Prepare and submit sales, use, and excise tax returns across multiple jurisdictions. + Reconcile tax accounts, investigate discrepancies, and process adjustments as needed. + Maintain exemption certificates and ensure proper documentation for audit readiness. + Respond to state tax notices and assist with inquiries or supporting documentation. + Support internal teams with taxability questions on invoices, purchases, and customer transactions. + Assist with external audits by gathering documents and preparing requested reports. + Monitor changes in sales & use tax regulations and update internal records accordingly. + Work closely with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and the broader tax team to ensure accurate tax handling. Requirements Qualifications: + Experience with sales & use tax compliance, accounting, or tax administration preferred. + Familiarity with multi‑state filings and indirect tax concepts is a plus. + Strong Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, reconciliations). + Ability to manage deadlines, track multiple filings, and stay organized. + Comfort working in ERP systems (SAP or JD Edwards) is helpful. + Strong attention to accuracy and a willingness to investigate issues.
