By joining the Valley Team, you will become a member of the family.As a Yard Laborer, you will be a key member in maintaining clean toilets, sinks, holding tanks, and fence panels in the wash pad area. Responsible for driving a forklift, loading and unloading trucks and trailers, and cleaning of all deliverables. Direct drivers and truck traffic in the wash pad/loading and unloading area. Responsible for safely, efficiently, and courteously serving customers when needed.Responsibilities include, butare not limited to:Retrieve and review load sheets for deliveries scheduledSafely load, unload, and secure loads for safe transport on trucks and trailersClean, maintained, and stocked toilets, sinks, holding tanks, and fenceMaintain a clean wash pad and storage areaClean loose trash off trucks/trailers and ground around trucks that spill during the loading and unloading process to maintain clean sites and safety along roads and highways.Courteously interacts with drivers or the general public to answer questions or respond to requests. Notifies superiors of issues requiring management actionMaintains and submits load sheets and daily site inspection paperworkRequirementsBasic QualificationsKnowledge of the forklift and its components and the basic maintenance requirements for safe operations. Ability to read and write well enough to complete load sheets.Must have a forklift license or be willing to obtain one within the first few months of employmentMust demonstrate the ability to maneuver forklift into and out of minimum clearance spaces, using mirrors to back stances up to approximately 120 feetMust demonstrate the ability to connect, disconnect the trailer safely, and secure loadsAble to follow safe operating practices, including lockout/tag out procedures to ensure the truck is inoperative when loading and unloading truck and trailerMonitor operations to detect loose debris, using mirrors or direct sight and/or listening for debris falling onto trucks during loading and unloading operations. Visually scans truck, trailer, and work area before and after loading and unloading trucks, trailers, and working in the wash pad areaAble to follow safe operating practices and proceduresAbility to use pressure washers to clean deliverables and safely use and maintain proper safe storage of cleaning chemicalsAble to learn and use interpersonal skills relating to good customer servicePhysical RequirementWalking, bending, climbing, crouching, driving, sitting, twisting, reaching, pushing/pulling, gripping/grasping controlsAbility to effectively communicate with dispatch/supervisorsAble to live at least seventy-five pounds as needed dailySalary Description $19.00 - $22.00 / hour
