This role manages recruitment, hiring, employee relations, benefits, and compliance for certificated and classified staff while ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, and board policies. The Director works closely with the Superintendent, leadership team, and principals to support staff across multiple roles. This position requires a high level of accessibility, flexibility, and confidentiality and plays a critical role in supporting staff, addressing workforce shortages, and maintaining stable operations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Listed below are the essential tasks performed to achieve the purpose of this job. Coordinate and lead district recruitment events and job fairs. Oversee the development and maintenance of district salary schedules, annual staffing letters, non-renewals, and contacts and collaborate with district leadership to implement compensation adjustments aligned with budget priorities and staffing needs.W10Post and maintain district job vacancies by coordinating and managing all job postings to ensure positions are accurately advertised on the district website and external recruitment platforms. Collaborate with principals and department leaders to verify job descriptions, qualifications, salary placement, and posting timelines. Monitor applicant pools, update or repost vacancies as needed, and ensure timely closure of filled positions. Coordinate and conduct employee exit interviews to gather feedback, identify trends, and inform district retention and workforce planning efforts.W10Lead the development and maintenance of the district academic calendar and staff work calendars, ensuring compliance with Colorado instructional time requirements and alignment with district priorities. Work collaboratively with district leadership, principals, and calendar committees to coordinate key dates including professional development, workdays, holidays, and school breaks, and ensure calendars are communicated clearly to staff and the community.A5Oversee the district's employee evaluation systems, including Educator Effectiveness and the RANDA platform, ensuring evaluations for certified, classified, and administrative/professional/technical (APT) employees are conducted in accordance with state requirements, district policies, and established timelines. Provide guidance and support to supervisors and administrators to ensure evaluations are implemented with fidelity and consistency across the district.M10Oversee, review and evaluate background checks for prospective employees and volunteers to ensure individuals meet district standards and are appropriate for employment or service in an educational environment.W3Partner with building principals and department supervisors to address employee performance concerns, including the development and implementation of progress discipline and performance improvement plans, investigations, ensuring alignment with district policy, documentation requirements, and applicable employment laws.W10Serve as a member of the Superintendent's Cabinet, contributing to district leadership, strategic planning, and organizational decision-making. Attend Board of Education meetings as assigned and provide written and verbal reports to the Board related to human resources initiatives, staffing, and personnel matters.W10Coordinate the administration of employee benefits, including annual renewals and bid-process, benefits communication, and wellness or benefits fairs for staff.M7Serve as the lead administrator for the district Sick Leave Bank Committee, coordinating requests and providing necessary documentation to committee members for review and approval or denial. Oversee the administration and coordination of employee leave programs, including FMLA and Colorado FAMLI leave, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and district policies.W5Oversee and provide leadership to the HR Specialist, ensuring effective execution of HR functions.D10Oversees unemployment claims and completes request information for Employers UnityD/W3Oversees workers compensation injury claims. Files First Report of Injury with carrier.D/W3Coordinate annual substitute teacher training prior to the start of the school year.A2Internal and External Committees: Cabinet, Admin Team, DCC, Finance Committee, CASPA, CASE.W10Perform other duties as assigned.M2TOTAL=100%EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field or equivalent advanced training and/or experience.
