Essential Job Functions:Assist Journeyman Engineers with troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systemsSupport installation, modification, and redirection of electrical circuits under supervisionComplete assigned work orders accurately and in a timely mannerPerform daily property walks to identify maintenance needs and assist with necessary repairsSupport installation and reconfiguration of gaming table layouts as requiredAssist with property-wide relamping and lighting maintenanceFollow all safety procedures when working with tools, equipment, and chemicalsMaintain professional communication and working relationships with team members and other departmentsPerform other job-related duties as assignedTraining & DevelopmentThis position is part of a structured apprenticeship pathway. The Apprentice Engineer works alongside a Journeyman Engineer at all times and is given the opportunity to gain experience in multiple areas of facility maintenance while attending required apprenticeship training programs.Required QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalentCurrent Apprentice Engineer status or enrollment in an Operating Engineer apprenticeship programAbility to read, write, and communicate effectively in EnglishBasic math skillsAbility to understand and follow hotel and departmental policies, procedures, and safety standardsAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and other departmentsNon-Gaming LVMPD Work Card (or ability to obtain)Physical DemandsStanding and walking for up to 80% of the shiftFrequent bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing ladders or stairsWorking at heights and in confined spaces such as attics or catwalksLifting, pushing, pulling, or moving items up to 100 lbsManual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for tool usageAbility to distinguish colors, letters, numbers, and symbolsCommunication via phone, radio, and other devicesRegular and predictable attendanceWorking ConditionsWork is performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. The role may involve exposure to hot, cold, noisy, dimly lit, or smoky environments, as well as the use of chemicals. Employees may work in small, confined spaces or elevated areas. Frequent interaction with team members and occasional interaction with guests may occur.
