This position is eligible for Paid Leave hours at a proportional rate based on the number of hours regularly scheduled to work.DuPage County is an Equal Opportunity Employer RESPONSIBILITIESAssist Wetland or Water Quality staff with a wide range of activities in the field and in the office. Conduct field inspections at various locations throughout DuPage County. Assist with permit regulatory tasks. General office duties including filing, data entry, analysis, and research. REQUIREMENTS INCLUDERequires the applicant to be actively taking undergraduate or graduate level courses at an accredited institution to obtain an Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate degree, or be a recent graduate (within past year). Must possess and maintain in good standing a valid Illinois driver's license. Preferred candidate will be a full-time student enrolled in ecology, water chemistry, natural sciences, or biology. A pre-employment background check is required. Physical Requirements and Work Environment PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSLight Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Use of arm and /or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than for sedentary work. WORK ENVIRONMENTThis position will include a variety of office and field work. Applicant must be able to work outdoors under adverse weather conditions.
