DescriptionThe Manager, System Engineering leads the strategy, design, implementation, and support of enterprise systems, ensuring high availability, scalability, and operational excellence. This role manages a team of system engineers and oversees the architecture and performance of physical and virtualized on premises infrastructures - including VMware and Microsoft HyperV environments. This is a hybrid role with 3 days per week onsite at our Westminster, CO office. Check out for more information. Your Impact: Leadership & Team Management Lead and mentor a team of System Engineers responsible for enterprise infrastructure, virtualization, and systems operations. Oversee resource planning, performance management, and skills development across the team. Promote engineering standards, documentation practices, and operational discipline. Enterprise Systems Architecture & Operations Own the architecture, deployment, and lifecycle management of VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and related virtualization platforms. Oversee Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization environments, including clustering, provisioning, and performance optimization. Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies across virtualized workloads. Guide the integration of on-premises systems with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP. Maintain the roadmap for virtualization technologies, storage platforms, and systems automation. Project & Stakeholder Management Lead complex systems engineering and modernization initiatives from design through implementation. Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. Communicate architecture decisions, project updates, risks, and impacts to technical and nontechnical stakeholders. Operational Excellence Oversee incident response, rootcause analysis, and service restoration efforts across system infrastructure. Implement monitoring, capacity planning, performance tuning, and security hardening for all system platforms. Ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and security frameworks. Innovation & Continuous Improvement Drive automation of provisioning, patching, configuration, and system health management. Evaluate new virtualization, hybrid cloud, and systems management technologies. Reduce technical debt and streamline operational processes through engineering best practices. Your Profile: 7-10 years' experience in Systems Engineering, with 3+ years in a leadership or management role. 7-10 years Hands-on expertise with VMware (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter) and Microsoft HyperV, including clustering, storage integration, and performance tuning. 7-10 years managing complex Active Directory environments. Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, directory services, DHCP, DNS and storage technologies. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and systems design skills.Demonstrated ability to manage engineering teams and deliver enterprise-scale solutions. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across diverse teams. Strategic mindset with the ability to align systems engineering with business needs. Strong technical leadership and team-building skills. Ability to mentor, inspire, and grow a high-performing engineering team.
