The Insurance Program Manager is responsible for managing and directing the IAA's insurance programs/policies and any special projects assigned as an insurance specialist.Duties shall include, but are not limited to, advising departmental managers and staff on emerging insurance-related issues, evaluating and maintaining the effectiveness of the insurance broker relationship, negotiating with brokers as to premiums insurance coverages, and other clauses, reviewing and evaluating existing insurance policies and programs for effectiveness and cost-efficiency, coordinating with various stakeholders for any insurance related matters. This employee must have and maintain current knowledge of: (1) the national and international insurance marketplace, and (2) effective insurance programs, products, and claims processes knowledge. Concentration in the aviation field is preferred.The position also requires knowledge of all airport operations and activities, as well as the functions and responsibilities of all departments within the IAA. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSResponsible for initiating and implementing sound management practices to manage and direct the purchase of the IAA's Insurance program. Prepares insurance bid specifications, evaluates insurance quotations, and maintains all insurance contracts.Directs the leadership of Property and Liability Insurance Programs by collaborating with the Risk Manager to evaluate enterprise risks and recommend strategies to effectively protect assets and minimize exposures.Collaborates with Property and P&D Departments to ensure adequate evaluation of property exposures and construction risks and suggest the best insurance options, including OCIP/CCIP, and manage those programs.Evaluate the viability of comprehensive risk funding programs, including, if necessary, any negotiations with commercial insurance markets.Leads insurance broker and other vendor relationships.Collaborates with the Risk Manager to evaluate enterprise risks and the strategies to address those risks, especially pertaining to risks that are insurable.When requested, collaborates with P&D and Airport Operation departments to evaluate contractor insurance requirements to determine liability transferred by vendors, contractors, and government entities. When requested, works with the Office of the General Counsel to analyze, and draft appropriate insurance provisions in all varieties of agency contracts and agreements.Works with the Risk manager to identify loss exposures and works with insurance companies, contractors, and Senior leadership on appropriate levels of insurance coverage.Reviews and evaluates insurance policies.Negotiates all insurance coverage, including, but not limited to, property, liability, automobile.Negotiates with insurance companies, brokers, or agencies with respect to premiums, terms, and conditions, renewals, and modifications of insurance contracts. Administers and handles all the claims that fall within the IAA's deductibles and self-insured retentions.Communicates insurance coverage issues, loss experience, and claim management detail with IAA's Sr. Director, Audit, Procurement and Risk Management and other impacted parties, as appropriate.Obtains, reviews for accuracy and acceptability, verifies, files, tracks, and monitors for expiration certificates of insurance.Collaborates with HR and the safety manager to manage employee driver's policy/procedures and ensure all applicable regulations are followed. Identifies exposures, recommends solutions, and recommends programs to the Senior Director of Audit, Procurement and Management, and Risk manager for approval and implements approved programs.Manages relationships with third-party service providers including brokers, insurers, and other TPAs. Coordinates and works with the Risk manager to manage all site visits by insurance and broker representatives.Takes the initial lead in the investigation of accidents and injuries and assists the Office of General Counsel in the preparation of materials and evidence for the IAA's use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.Assures that insurance programs follow federal, state, and local laws. Works with the Risk manager to evaluate the impact of new and proposed legislation on the IAA's insurance and safety programs and makes recommendations for the IAA's compliance therewith. Uses a computer and (a) modern office suite software (such as MS Office) to communicate (email), plan, schedule, word process, prepare presentations and graphics, manipulate data (spreadsheets and databases), and (b) special software for tracking certificates of insurance.Collaborate with internal departments to identify and address insurance needs and coverage gaps.Oversee the claims process, including reporting, tracking, and resolving insurance claims.Maintain accurate records and documentation related to insurance policies and claims.Act as the primary liaison between the organization and insurance carriers, brokers, and other external parties and present at all IAA board meetings and other meetings as directed.Performs other duties as assigned.DESIRABLE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEGraduation from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business or related field.
