Religion Teacher Middle School - Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic SchoolThe Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic School Middle School Religion Teacher must be a catechist of the Catholic Faith and plan, organize, and implement appropriate instruction in an elementary or secondary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.Candidate should have a degree in theology or a similar discipline..Duties and responsibilities are to:Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning in grade level or area of teaching Ensure classroom management and procedures by establishing rules and policiesCreate lesson plans that are aligned with Diocesan learning standards and objectives and submit them in a timely mannerMonitor students in accordance with established procedures, in and out of the classroomUse relevant technology to support and differentiate instructionMaintain discipline in accordance with the school proceduresMonitor and assess student progress and provide appropriate student feedback on work. Assessment should included classwork, homework, tests and other assignments.Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development and record them in a timely manner.Prepare required reports on students and activities.Participate in all required meetingsCommunicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needsPrepare classroom for class activities by providing a variety of learning materials and resourcesMaintain a clean and orderly classroomDemonstrate the ability to work with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgroundsProvide student accommodations as requiredEncourage parent and community involvementProvide information to parents when requestedPromptly return phone calls and answer emailsParticipate in appropriate professional activitiesParticipate in extracurricular activities such as student social activities, sporting activities, clubs, and student organizationsMaintain teacher certificationParticipate in professional developmentComplete MAT I and MAT II ClassesEstablish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with othersCommunicate effectivelyReport to work on a regular and punctual basis.Maintain confidentialityAssist with school Mass, special religion programs/projects, and service projectsMust be able to plan an implement grade level retreats
