Report to the Front Desk upon arrival at the school building. Arrive on time, stay until the end of the shift, and sign in and out properly. Maintain effective classroom management. Assume responsibility for overseeing student behavior, enforcing all school and classroom rules and keeping an orderly classroom. Substitute teaching is not babysitting. The sub is expected to teach the lesson prepared by the absent teacher. If no lesson is available the school office must be notified so appropriate material can be covered. Log accurate attendance for assigned grade level (10am daily attendance for PreK-6th and attendance for each class period for grades 7-12). Complete a summary of work completed at the end of each teaching day and leave it for the regular classroom teacher. Read Student and Employee Handbooks. Follow all school policies, rules and procedures including but not limited to student discipline, dress code, use of technology, medication, emergency, recordkeeping, confidentiality, etc. Be responsible for all assigned students, equipment, materials and records. Cover all assigned teacher's duties, including extra duties including but not limited to traffic duty, hallway monitoring, etc. Sub for other classes during teacher's planning period (as assigned). Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise assigned teacher aide(s).
