Shipping Coordinator

The Shipping Coordinator will be responsible for various shipping office-related functions. The individual engages with and follows safety procedures, and policy compliance.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCheck-In:Coordinate with the Sales Department on any daily special requirementsCheck-in trucks on a first come - first serve basisCommunicate to incoming drivers current loading status in a professional and courteous mannerAssign available loaders to each order when ready to loadCommunicate to loaders any special requirements for ordersEnsure that all orders are loaded in rotations, according to the aging reportMonitor product receiving during the day and cross reference truck arrivalsCheck-Out:Tag out the orders by checking the pallet tag numbers used by the loaders against the product on orderVerify that the correct product was loaded in rotations and that any special instructions for that order were followedIssue a Bill of Lading for each shipment and distribute copies as appropriateTelephone Inquiries:Answer all questions by Sales or customers regarding ordersProvide truck drivers with directions to our various facilitiesOther duties as assignedJob Requirements and QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred; continuing work-related training, including forklift, safety and good agricultural practices may be requiredProficient math and reading skills requiredPrevious forklift certification and/or experience of 2-3 years preferredProficient computer knowledge in Famous and other computer software requiredPrior knowledge and efficient use of radio frequency handheld devices is preferredThis position requires that employees work Monday through Saturday, including Sundays and holidays, as needed 8 - 10+ hours per day, or as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities; overtime may be required.
