Reporting to and working closely with the Director of Annual Giving, the Annual Giving Officer is an hourly, non-exempt position that drives the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of Boston Ballet's giving circles, particularly focused on the Friends' Circle and Young Partners and the steady growth of these programs. The Annual Giving Officer joins a dynamic development team at an exciting moment of growth for Boston Ballet and serves within the organization as a strong collaborator and champion for the giving circles, striving to maximize donor and patron experiences. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESDonor stewardship and relationship management:Directly solicit and manage donors giving between $250 and $2,500 annually. Build and maintain valued donor relationships with members of the Ballet's giving circles, serving as a first point of contact on our main Annual Giving phone line, monitoring the Annual Giving email inboxes, and providing customer service and stewardship at the highest level.Drive the annual solicitation of Friends' Circle and Young Partners donors, including: tracking renewals and sending timely notices, maintaining excellent records of all steps, and focusing on acquisitions to strategically grow the programs.Collaborate with Annual Giving team members and Major Gifts for stewardship and support of Friends, Young Partners, Benefactors, and Visionaries' Circle programs.Annual Giving strategy and program growth:Collaborate with Director of Annual Giving on the annual strategy, benefits structure, and communications plan for Ballet's giving circles.Set and work towards goals for the Friends and Young Partners programs including renewal, upgrade, and acquisition revenue goals. Lead the Annual Giving team's use of Tessitura CRM system to pull reports and analyze donor data. Collaborate with Marketing colleagues to plan realistic timelines and leverage shared resources for the delivery of materials and communicationsProactively use institutional project management software to deliver high quality and on time Annual Giving materials and communications.Create feedback loops and use data to track and continuously improve the efficacy of Annual Giving materials and communications.Actively seek opportunities to learn and generate strategies to improve on Annual Giving communication and engagement.Special events and in theater support:Assist with donor events throughout the season, including as a staff representative onsite and during the planning stages.Support the Development teams' operations in the Opera House during Company productions.Requirements Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience1 to 3 years' experience in development or annual giving preferredStrong relationship building and interpersonal skillsWork style that exemplifies collaboration, solution seeking, and ambitionDemonstrated discretion, tact, and good judgmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsSelf-starter, able to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyExcellent data management skills and strong attention to detail necessaryResults-oriented and committed to meeting benchmarks and goals with a high degree of initiative to motivate high-level donors and volunteersAbility to work some evenings and weekends, in particular during the production seasonMust be passionate about advancing Boston Ballet, its programs, and dance as an art formBENEFITS BCBS HMO health insurance plan with zero deductibleBCBS dental insurance with employer providing 100% annual premium for individual coverageFlexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) - health and dependent careEmployer-paid life and disability plansImmediate access to 403(b) retirement savings plan featuring both pre-tax and Roth optionsAbility to purchase MBTA passes on a pre-tax, payroll deduction basis up to IRS monthly limitPaid time off - holidays, vacation, personal, and sick daysFree adult dance classesComplimentary tickets to select Boston Ballet performances (based on availability)Hybrid workSalary Pay Range: $27.50 to 30.50 per hour. This range is a reasonable, good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position at this time, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs, and other considerations permitted by law.
