Compliance Officer – MWDBE Contract Compliance Melville, NY | Full-Time | $100K and Up depending on experience. A leading Long Island-based infrastructure and heavy civil construction firm is seeking an experienced Compliance Officer to join its Project Support team. This is a high-impact role tied directly to large-scale public projects across New York, with contract values reaching up to $500M. About the Role This position oversees MWDBE compliance across major public works and infrastructure contracts. You will work cross-functionally with Project Managers, Procurement, Workforce Development, and executive leadership to ensure vendor participation goals are met, documented, and reported accurately. Your work directly supports contract approvals and project success. Key Responsibilities • Track, monitor, and report vendor diversity participation across multiple active projects • Review contracts and procurement documents to ensure compliance requirements are incorporated • Develop and monitor participation goals and utilization metrics • Conduct virtual and in-person vetting of subcontractors and vendors to confirm legitimacy and capability • Audit contracts, subcontracts, invoices, and purchase documentation for compliance adherence • Prepare detailed reports and supporting documentation for oversight agencies • Participate in pre-bid, pre-award, and pre-construction meetings • Maintain and manage compliance databases and vendor registries • Partner with estimating teams to identify qualified MWDBE firms for bids and proposals What We’re Looking For • Minimum 4 years of experience in Supplier Diversity, Workforce Development, or government contract compliance • Strong background in government reporting and regulatory documentation • Experience working with public sector agencies, infrastructure projects, or regulated environments • Excellent analytical and organizational skills • Ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working with project teams and external stakeholders • Self-directed professional who can operate independently with minimal supervision • Comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment Why This Opportunity Stands Out • Direct involvement in major public infrastructure projects • High-visibility role with meaningful impact on contract performance • Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, PTO, and professional development opportunities • Collaborative, growth-oriented company culture This is an ideal role for a compliance professional who wants to move beyond administrative reporting and take ownership of complex, high-value contracts in a dynamic construction environment.
