Senior Quality EngineerLocation: Louisville, KY Pay Rate: $50-55/hour Schedule: Full-time | OnsitePosition OverviewThe Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring product and process quality across manufacturing and engineering operations. This role plays a key part in identifying defects, leading corrective actions, analyzing quality trends, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.The ideal candidate brings strong experience in root cause analysis, quality systems, and data-driven decision-making, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and improve overall quality performance.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze quality data, metrics, and trends to identify improvement opportunitiesSupport tiered accountability systems and structured escalation processesLead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities, including 5-Whys and countermeasure implementationInvestigate and resolve product and process defects to ensure compliance and performanceCollaborate with production teams, operators, and cross-functional stakeholders to reinforce quality standardsFacilitate Non-Conformance Report (NCR) reviews and drive resolution activitiesPerform Measurement System Analysis (MSA) to validate inspection accuracy and reliabilityLead containment actions and corrective measures in response to quality issuesSupport Basis of Estimate (BOE) development and manage assigned quality work packagesDevelop, maintain, and improve inspection plans and control plansConduct internal audits to ensure process and quality complianceManage and respond to Corrective Action Requests (CARs)Review technical documentation to ensure adherence to contractual and regulatory requirementsSupport counterfeit part prevention and quality control processesLead Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activitiesApply GD&T principles to ensure design and manufacturing integrityDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and ROIRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field OR equivalent experience5+ years of experience in a Quality Engineering roleStrong experience in manufacturing, aerospace, or defense environments preferredHands-on experience with RCCA, PFMEA, MSA, and GD&TStrong knowledge of quality systems, tools, and methodologiesExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsStrong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionallyPreferred QualificationsExperience working in highly regulated environments (e.g., aerospace, defense, automotive)Experience conducting process audits and supporting compliance initiativesProven track record of driving continuous improvement and quality performanceAdditional InformationHigh-impact role supporting both engineering and production operationsStrong cross-functional collaboration across quality, manufacturing, and engineering teamsOpportunity to influence quality strategy and process improvements at scaleEOE (including Disability/Veterans)#HRUProfessional
