Chipton-Ross is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a contract opportunity in Tulsa, OK.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): 4 + years of experience using 3-D CAD software tools in design function, SolidWorks or equivalent modeling software (solid modeler) experience a must.2 + years of experience in interpreting and performing to military and/or industry specifications and standards pertaining to design, testing, hardware, material, and processes.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for general mechanical engineering, structural and thermal analysis of power distribution switchboards, load centers, and power distribution panels for Navy shipboard-based systems. Knowledge of mechanical layout and packaging of such systems is necessary. Given the system complexity, the associated responsibilities and assignments require the exercise of considerable initiative, planning, and independent judgment. The candidate shall demonstrate technical acuity which encompasses interpretation of specifications/requirements and resolution of complex mechanical design and analysis problems. Shall be able to lead mechanical engineering design efforts on a project.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): 2+ years of experience in Commercial/Navy/Military Specifications for environmental qualification testing.Experience working with Power Distribution Switchgear or similar low/medium-voltage/high-power type equipment2 + years of experience reading and interpreting wiring diagrams and schematics.Skilled in design of high impact shock and vibration mitigation for sheet metal weldment electrical enclosuresDemonstrated ability to lead and execute own tasks with minimal guidanceAbility to lead others in design team and execute tasks on-time and on-budgetExcellent technical writing skills demonstrated through authorship of technical documentation such as design reports, test procedures, etc. Good written and oral communication skills. REQUIRED EDUCATION: Accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with minimum 5 years of prior related experience.In lieu of a degree you must have at least 8 years of related work experienceWORK HOURS: Full-Time5/40 work schedule
