About the job Controls Engineer Description:Were looking for two experienced Controls Engineers to join our Equipment Engineering team. This role focuses on the design, programming, and debugging of control systems for both new and existing automated equipment.Contract Details:Start Date: ASAPSchedule: MondayFriday, 8 hours/dayDuration: Through end of the year, with potential for direct hire (Estimated end date: 12/28/2025)Key Responsibilities:Develop and document control system designs for automation equipmentProgram automation systems using a variety of PLCs, HMIs, and robot softwareTroubleshoot and debug systems, ensuring successful qualification and performance in productionImplement equipment upgrades and modifications to enhance performance, output, quality, or reduce costsCollaborate with production and process engineering teams to support the rollout of new equipmentProvide advanced troubleshooting for equipment issues beyond the scope of the maintenance teamPartner with suppliers to replicate or improve equipment for capacity expansionContinuously improve processes and systems through innovation and collaboration with internal and external expertsPerform other related tasks as assignedRequirements:Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)3 - 10 years of experience in equipment engineering and automation design.Proficient in PLC programming and control system designSkilled in HMI and robot programming (preferred)Ability to write clean, well-documented, and structured codeStrong communication, documentation, and teamwork skillsFamiliarity with MS Office (Word, Excel) and AutoCADQuick learner with a willingness to adopt new PLC platformsExperience with vision systems such as Epson, Cognex, or Keyence (a plus)Must-Have Softwares:Allen Bradley / RockwellCompactLogix, FactoryTalk, GuardLogix, RSLogix 5000Good to Have Softwares:BeckhoffTwinCatKeyence2D and 3D vision systemsCognex2D and 3D vision systemsCompensation:Base Rate (per hour)$ 44.00OT Rate (per hour)$ 56.00DT Rate (per hour)$ 69.00
