Job DescriptionJob Title: Transmission Operations Support SpecialistLocation: Hybrid - Allentown, PA (Tues-Thurs in office, Mon/Fri remote)Overview:This role supports the PPL Transmission Operations Support team by helping maintain and improve operational applications, procedures, and documentation. The ideal candidate will have experience with transmission operations and a strong understanding of electric system operations and one-line schematics.Key Responsibilities:1. Transmission Outage Application (TOA) SupportAudit and validate TOA and iTOA applications to ensure all devices in the Energy Management System (EMS) are correctly designated and represented.Ensure switching steps used by operators are properly configured in TOA.Establish controls and procedures to maintain ongoing accuracy of TOA data.Explore digital switching opportunities in ORCA/iTOA to reduce reliance on paper-based switching.2. Operator Station Notes and Customer Operating Instructions (OIs)Recreate Rhode Island (RI) station notes to match the standardized Pennsylvania (PA) format.Maintain and update existing station notes to reflect system changes.Standardize and update Customer Operating Instructions.3. Operational Procedure DevelopmentSupport the development and documentation of best practices and process improvements in the following areas:Operations studiesEMS modeling and advanced applicationsEMS alarming optimizationEMS facility rating practicesQualifications:Required:Associate degree- OR -1-2 years of related industry experience in lieu of a degreePreferred:Transmission Operations experienceFamiliarity with electric system operations and one-line schematicsUnderstanding of EMS, TOA/iTOA, and digital switching technologies
