Material Management Specialist

Description The Department of Facilities and Construction Management at Jackson State University is accepting applications for its Material Management Specialist. Material Management Specialist is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the flow of materials. Examples of Duties * Responsible for prompt retrieval of Material Requests and the data entry of all material requests in the TMA work order system; responsible for material request responses and/or follow-up. * Responsible for inventory control, tracking and issuance of procured material and supplies; restock and maintain storage areas. * Ensure equipment parts, materials, special tools equipment and personnel are readily available. * Assist with receiving and delivering materials and supplies. * Performs other related duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Administrative Services and Budget Operations. * Perform other duties as assigned. Typical Qualifications * Must possess a valid Mississippi Driver's License. * High School Diploma or GED. * Proficient in Microsoft Office. * Strong oral and written skills, and customer service skills. * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
