The Client Account Operations Lead is a senior-level Legal Biller and subject-matter expert responsible for managing complex, high-volume billing portfolios for institutional and high-profile clients and attorneys. This role combines advanced billing expertise, analytical skills, and leadership to ensure seamless full-cycle billing support across domestic and global client accounts.The Operations Lead plays a critical role in prioritizing work, analyzing processes, identifying gaps, and driving continuous improvement through customized training and mentoring. This position also serves as a proxy for the Regional Manager when needed and may provide temporary managerial or senior-level functional support during periods of increased workload or staffing gaps.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the Subject Matter Expert for legal billing support to Corporate Practice Group Partners in the Austin officeManage full-cycle billing for complex U.S. and global client accounts, including high-volume and high-fee portfoliosReview billing data for accuracy and compliance with client and firm requirementsResearch and resolve electronic billing rejections and service desk ticketsPrepare, analyze, and present detailed billing reports and financial data to attorneys and support staffCoordinate global unified billing, including accruals, forecasting, LEDES file generation, and international collaborationAnalyze billing processes and systems, develop metrics, build business cases, and recommend efficiency improvementsMaintain and update detailed client billing requirements and guidelinesPartner cross-functionally with Accounting, Legal Support Services, IT, and international finance teamsDevelop and deliver training programs to ensure consistent billing practices across the teamServe as a point of escalation and provide coaching, mentoring, and quality oversight for junior billing staffProvide temporary managerial support in the absence of the Regional ManagerDesired Skills & Qualifications5+ years of senior-level legal billing experience at a major law firmAdvanced experience with Aderant, Bill Blast, and e-billing platforms (e-Hub, LEDES)Expert knowledge of domestic, global, and electronic billing processesStrong analytical, problem-solving, and process-improvement skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills (PivotTables, Lookups)Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentCollaborative team player with the ability to work independentlyEducationRequired: High School Diploma or GEDPreferred: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field$100K-$150K (Salary based upon experience)
