Set-Up TechnicianPay: $20/hr. or more depending on experienceShift: 2ndDescription:The Set-Up Technician configures, sets, plumbs, and removes molds in injection molding machines. Sets-up related equipment in accordance with established procedures.Requirements:5 years of experience with machine set-up; experience in plastic molding is preferredSupervisory/Lead experience is beneficialExperience with injection molding process or able to pass a mechanical reasoning testIntermediate computer working knowledgeForklift experience is preferredAbility to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, kneel, and lift up to 45 lbsKey Responsibilities:Minimizes downtime for setupsMCT injection molded productsDuties:Start and stop production of work orders according to production schedule and established procedures by: completing line clearance from previous jobsetting molds and related process equipmentsetting up conveyors, fixtures, and general work cell to optimal specificationssetting up secondary and assembly operationsMaximize Throughput by: anticipating and planning for efficient job changeoversContinually developing and improving methods used for job changeover such as pre-heat, quick-change, and manifold techniques.monitoring equipment condition and reporting any immediate maintenance needsadvising scheduler of any scheduling conflictsStage molds and required equipment for next shiftAssist in routine maintenance of support equipment by: Completing simple, routine maintenance tasks including cleaning mold parting line surface and greasing guide pins if needcompleting an electronic Work Order for any inoperative equipmentMaintains a safe working environment by: performing set-ups with high consideration given to worker safetyfollowing and enforcing safety rules and regulations.Cleaning press area after setting molds (I.E. rags, oil pads, tools, hoses, clamps and bolts)Promotes continuous improvement and overall quality by: engineering and documenting optimal, balanced downstream operationsConfiguring the operator's work cell to establish standard configurationsAuthorities/Supervisory Responsibilities:Authorized to stop and start production as requiredBasic supervisory responsibilitiesBenefits:Health / Dental / Vision / Life Insurance options401kEmployee Stock Ownership PlanFlexible Spending Account9 Paid HolidaysPTO = up to 96 hours the first yearWellness PlansAll benefits available after probationary period
