Job Description

This Technician II will be based in San Jose, CA and will provide hands-on build and test support for engineered heating and control solutions, including complex gas/fluid delivery assemblies and sub-system enclosures This role focuses on executing prototype and validation testing, supporting first-article builds, and working closely with design and applications engineers to accelerate customer qualifications and ramp to production.The technician will be a key part of the local prototype and FA/FAI cell, building, instrumenting, and testing assemblies to internal requirements and quality plans.Key responsibilities• Test setup and executionoBuild and configure test setups for heating, sensing, and control assemblies, including heaters, temperature and flow sensors, valves, and electrical harnesses.oInstall and connect components according to mechanical and electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and test procedures.oExecute engineering test plans (thermal, electrical, functional, leak, and endurance tests), including first-article and characterization testing for new and modified designs.oOperate standard test and measurement equipment (digital multimeters, power supplies, flow and pressure instruments, hipot testers, data-acquisition systems, etc.) and accurately record results.• Build and prototype supportoPerform basic rework (mechanical adjustments, wiring and connector work, strain-relief, labeling) to bring assemblies into conformance with drawings and test findings.• Data, documentation, and feedbackoCapture test data, photos, and observations in standardized formats and communicate results to engineering in a clear, timely manner.oSupport test report and FAI package creation by organizing raw data, build history, and configuration details for each unit tested.oProvide structured feedback on assembly issues, test failures, and design-for-build/test improvements to engineering and NPI teams.• Equipment, lab, and safetyoMaintain a clean, organized test area that supports repeatable, high-quality testing of complex electro-mechanical systems.oPerform basic preventive maintenance and calibration checks on test equipment and fixtures escalate when formal service is required.oWork in accordance with all safety, environmental, and quality requirements, including PPE, ESD controls, electrical safety, and any applicable regulatory or export-control rules.• Cross-site and field supportoCollaborate regularly with engineers and technicians at other company locations to align on test priorities, build status, and upcoming milestones.oSupport occasional on-site testing or installation support at company or customer locations as needed for critical builds, FAIs, or troubleshooting.Requirement:The ideal candidate will possess the following: Required qualifications• 5+ years experience as an engineering, manufacturing, or field service technician working with complex electromechanical systems, process equipment, or gas/fluid delivery systems.• Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics, and to execute builds and tests directly from this documentation.• Hands-on experience assembling, wiring, and testing:oMulti-component thermal and control assemblies, and/oroGas/fluid delivery panels, manifolds, or similar engineered systems.• Proficiency with common electrical and mechanical measurement tools (digital multimeters, hipot testers, flow/pressure gauges, micrometers/calipers, torque tools, etc.) and safe test practices.• Demonstrated ability to execute detailed test procedures, follow build travelers, and document results accurately with minimal supervision.• Comfortable working in a fast-paced NPI/prototype environment with changing priorities and aggressive schedules.• Associate degree in an engineering technology field (Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical, or similar), technical military training, or equivalent hands-on experience.Benefits:BenefitsFull-time employees (working an average of 30 hours or more) are eligible to select from different benefits packages Packages may include medical, dental, and vision benefits, a 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer match (available after 1 year of employment), commuter benefits, employee discount and referral programs, and life and supplemental income insurance Paid sick leave is provided in accordance with applicable state and local laws.CompensationFinal offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, and experience, as well as the benefits package you select.Work AuthorizationATR International, Inc cannot sponsor work visas (H-1B, F-1 STEM OPT with I-983, or similar) Candidates must have valid U.S work authorization.ATR International, Inc is an equal opportunity employer We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
