We also received the "Great Place Place To Work" Certification for 2025-2026!The Director of Operations position oversees management of all operational units throughout the Company to provide exceptional fiscal intermediary services to those receiving services through self-direction.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIESMaintains Operational StandardsFormulates, implements, and communicates operational policies and proceduresPlans, executes, and implements strategic objectives identified in support of the Company's overall Strategic PlanCoordinates activities across operational unit lines; evaluates plans and changes to plans; makes recommendations to senior managementDevelops leadership and management skills within subordinatesApproves performance appraisals and wage increasesDevelops metrics to measure operations performanceParticipates in the development of new services for recently acquired contractsParticipates in continuous improvement projects and leads efforts in customer service, payroll and processing continuous improvementMonitors workloads of the group and re-assigns agencies and programs appropriatelyCollaborates with directors and executives from other functional areas to optimize delivery of servicesTakes corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy; consults with human resources and compliance departments as appropriateIdentifies opportunities to improve our processesBuilds and maintains relationships with AgenciesPromote adherence to and upholds the company's mission and valuesOther duties as assignedEDUCATIONBachelor's Degree in business, human services or related field or equivalent work experience.EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONSAt least 5 years of experience relevant to the work performedKnowledgebase in supervision, business management and leadershipExcellent written and oral communication skillsExtensive experience in working on complex projects with Critical thinking and problem solvingExcellent organizational and administrative skills with demonstrated ability to work towards and meet deadlines by planning and organizingDemonstrate the ability to balance work pressure with time management skillsDemonstrate ability to build positive relationships and communicate with people of diverse backgrounds and abilitiesExperience in working, initiating and maintaining highly effective teamCompetent in the use of Microsoft Office programs and the InternetWORK ENVIRONMENTWork is performed from a typical office setting in Baltimore, MD.GT Independence is a national, family-owned organization and a trusted leader in personal and financial services for people in need of home and community-based care throughout the country.
