Hazardous Materials Team Leader

My client is seeking a Project Manager to work as a Team Leader to support their Building Sciences group in Torrance, CA. The ideal candidate is an industry-recognized leader with strong management skills, technical expertise, and a proven ability to develop business across Southern California.As the Team Lead for the Hazardous Materials group, you will oversee a multidisciplinary team delivering environmental services for public and private sector projects, including commercial, residential, and infrastructure-related work. This role requires strong client relationships, business development experience, and a deep understanding of the regional market.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, mentor, and manage a team to deliver high-quality hazardous materials and environmental services.Support and grow business development efforts, maintaining a strong sales pipeline in Southern California.Oversee project delivery, profitability, and client satisfaction.Conduct and manage field activities including inspections, sampling, and assessments.Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and proposals.Collaborate with senior leadership and project managers to ensure timely, compliant, and value-added service delivery.QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering, environmental studies, or related field.10+ years of leadership experience with strong seller/doer capabilities.California Asbestos Consultant (CAC) and CDPH Lead Inspector/Assessor certifications (required).40-hour HAZWOPER training completed.Strong knowledge of the Southern California environmental market.
