Job ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the maintenance of interior and exterior building finishes at the McCrady Training Center, army facilities at McEntire JANG Base and various SCARNG facilities state-wide. Supervise and perform painting and basic carpentry duties to include the maintenance and installation of wall finishes, trim around windows/doors, base boards, floors, stairs, roofs and other basic building finishes. Supervise and direct the activities of painting/carpentry personnel and contracted support. Serves as Lead Painter and performs painting and finishing tasks. Applies floor coverings to include vinyl and ceramic tile, carpeting, sheet vinyl and other floor finishes. Applies stains and paints to walls, floors, ceilings and roofs. Patches walls, ceilings and floors before applying finishes. Supervises subordinates as required. Maintains safe work environment and adheres to all applicable safety regulations and procedures. Conducts basic carpentry tasks. Conducts repairs to buildings and building systems using accepted carpentry practices. Lead carpenter working under the supervision of Facility Manager maintaining Training Sites as needed. Maintains safe work environment and adheres to all applicable safety regulations and procedures. Performs as a member of a multi-skilled crew in the repair, maintenance, construction and demolition of facilities. Receives work orders, develops bill of materials and tool/equipment requirements and schedules work. Executes maintenance and repair work and completes required work order documentation. Minimum and Additional RequirementsHigh school diploma and trades experience related to the area of employment.
