Job DescriptionTax Principal - Tallahassee, FL Who: A highly experienced tax professional with at least ten years of public accounting experience and strong leadership capabilities.What: Provides final technical review on tax returns, leads tax engagements, manages staff performance, and ensures compliance with evolving tax laws.When: Full-time leadership position available immediately.Where: Tallahassee, FLWhy: To strengthen the firm's tax practice through expert technical oversight, staff development, and proactive client and business development leadership.Office Environment: A collaborative, high-performing setting that values professionalism, mentorship, and quality-driven work.Salary: Competitive and commensurate with senior-level experience.Position Overview:The Senior Tax Manager oversees a broad portfolio of tax engagements, ensuring technical accuracy, workflow efficiency, and high-quality client service while leading and developing staff and contributing to firmwide growth initiatives.Key Responsibilities:- Provide final technical review on tax returns and related documents across the client base.- Research complex tax issues and develop resolutions and recommendations.- Stay current on developments in tax laws and accounting procedures.- Plan, coordinate, and manage client engagements to ensure deadlines are met.- Communicate effectively with clients to support their best interests.- Lead and support staff by setting objectives, establishing budgets, and creating a positive, high-quality work environment.- Monitor quality control and personnel performance.- Assign, track, and manage tasks and projects completed by staff and supervisors.- Play an active role in mentoring and developing team members.- Build and maintain internal and external networks to support business development.- Oversee billing, collections, WIP monitoring, aging, and write-downs.- Participate in and help facilitate internal CPE and training programs.Qualifications:- CPA certification preferred.- Minimum of ten years of public accounting experience.- Demonstrated leadership and team development ability.- Strong decision-making skills with initiative.- Ability to remain calm, organized, and effective under pressure.- Proven ability to manage a substantial workload in a fast-paced environment.If you're interested in learning more about this opportunity or would like to discuss your qualifications, please apply now.
