Sr. Cell Electrochemical Modeling Engineer

What to Expect As a member of the Cell Modeling team, this engineer will develop and maintain electrochemical physics-based models of lithium-ion cells, helping our group manage a growing number of internal and external cell programs. The candidate will leverage and extend existing modeling frameworks while coordinating with experimental groups to parameterize, validate, and exercise those cell models for performance, design, aging, and cost estimation efforts. What You'll Do * Optimize model parameters to best predict empirical battery data * Write test plans, propose design of experiments, and summarize results in test reports * Use data manipulation and visualization skills to convey model and test results to fellow engineers * Follow up on inquiries and disseminate bleeding-edge results traceably and reproducibly * Be a member of a cross functional product development team to help determine the ideal cell chemistry and design for electric vehicle and energy product applications * Effectively interact with other engineers in cross functional teams * Translate aging mechanisms into mathematical representations that can be accommodated by existing models * Document and communicate model workflow, implementations, and results of simulation studies What You'll Bring * Degree in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience * 3+ years of experience in electrochemical system modeling or general transport-reaction processes.
