Summer Special Education Intern Paid Internship | Norwood, MAFull-Time Monday-Friday | 7:15 AM - 3:45 PM Support. Empower. Prepare. Make a meaningful impact while gaining hands-on experience in a highly structured, data-driven, research evidence based educational environment. As a summer intern, you will support children and adolescents with Brain Injuries and Neurobehavioral Disorders, helping them build academic, behavioral, and daily living skills. This role is ideal for students pursuing careers in special education, psychology, behavior analysis, occupational therapy, speech therapy, or related human service fields. This is a high-support setting serving students with significant behavioral, emotional, and cognitive needs. Staff and interns are active participants in maintaining safety and structure throughout the day. Your Impact Behavioral and Academic Support - Work 1:1 or 2:1 with students to develop academic, vocational, and daily living skills. Data Driven Techniques in Action - Implement individualized behavior plans and learn the science behind data driven strategies. Data Collection & Analysis - Track student progress through data collection and evaluation. Collaboration with Experts - Work alongside BCBAs, special education teachers, and therapists (speech, occupational, and physical). Career Exploration - Gain exposure to different career paths within education, behavior analysis, and therapy. Interns must be prepared to: Support students during behavioral escalations Participate in Safety Care physical management techniques when necessary (training provided) Remain calm and professional in high-stress situations Be physically active throughout the day (standing, walking, assisting students) Work as part of a team to ensure student and staff safety What You Bring: Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in a related field Full-time availability (Monday-Friday, 7:15 AM - 3:45 PM Valid U.S. driver's license Professionalism, reliability, and a willingness to learn Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-needs educational setting What We Provide $18 per hour for a full-time, 40-hour workweek CPR, First Aid, Safety Care certification Mentorship from experienced special education and behavior professionals Exposure to interdisciplinary collaboration with speech, OT, and PT teams Real-world experience that prepares you for careers in education and behavioral health Kickstart your career while making a meaningful difference in the lives of students and families.
