Position Type: Elementary School Teaching/Special Education Teacher (Resource)Date Posted: 12/3/2025Location: District-WideDate Available: ImmediateClosing Date: Until FilledSPECIAL EDUCATION CASE MANAGERJOB DESCRIPTIONREPORTS TO: Director of Specialized Services/Building PrincipalEVALUATION: Director of Specialized Services/Building PrincipalWORK DAY: 8:00 am - 4:00 pmWORK YEAR: 12 monthsSALARY RANGE: Per experience and the PNA contract$49,437 - $66,785PURPOSE AND FUNCTION:The Special Education Case Manager is responsible for ensuring high-quality, compliant, and student-centered services for all students receiving special education support. The Case Manager oversees the development, implementation, and monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in alignment with IDEA, Article 14, Illinois School Code, School Board Policy, and district expectations. The Case Manager collaborates with teachers, related service providers, families, and administrators to ensure students receive appropriate services in the least restrictive environment (LRE). This role requires exceptional organization, communication, and professionalism, recognizing that errors may significantly impact student outcomes and district compliance.POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:Must hold a Professional Educator License with a Special Education LBS1 Endorsement valid in Illinois.Two or more years of experience in case management.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Facilitate all aspects of the IEP process, including scheduling meetings, drafting documents, and collaborating with team members.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district timelines, including annual reviews, evaluations, and parent notifications.Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals; share data with families and staff.Collaborate with general education teachers to support implementation of accommodations, modifications, and instructional supports.Coordinate with related service providers (SLP, OT, PT, social workers, psychologists) to ensure cohesive service delivery.Participate in MTSS, problem-solving, and student support meetings to analyze data and recommend interventions.Write present levels, goals, and services using data, teacher input, and assessment results.Ensure service minutes are delivered as written; communicate scheduling or staffing concerns to administration.Support the creation and revision of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs).Facilitate transition planning for students advancing to new programs, grade levels, or high school.Build trusted relationships with families through proactive and culturally responsive communication.Maintain accurate, timely, and organized records, documentation, and communication logs.Support staff by modeling and guiding differentiation, accommodations, and inclusive practices.Participate in and/or facilitate district-led professional development and special education meetings.Perform additional duties as assigned by building administration or the Director of Specialized Services.APPLICATION:Complete the application on our district website, , using AppliTrack.
