Staff Accountant

Job DescriptionJOB TITLE: Staff Accountant DEPARTMENT: Accounting/Finance FLSA STATUS: Exempt LOCATION: Corporate Campus, Dallas Location REPORTS TO: ControllerPosition Summary: Symbiotic Services is partnering with our client to find a skilled Staff Accountant to join their team. The successful candidate will assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial statements for accuracy and legal compliance, prepare and file tax returns, reconcile bank statements, and balance ledgers. Additional responsibilities include organizing and updating financial records, preparing documentation for external auditors, assisting with budgeting and financial forecasting, and conducting financial analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.Essential Functions & Responsibilities:Preparing and sending weekly payment runReview, adjust and post monthly Standard Journal EntriesMaintain fixed asset register and depreciationLease accounting entriesReconcile payrollPersonal property tax filingsP-card reconciliation and preparing/posting journal entries from reconciliation to record the transactionsCash reconciliationAssist outside auditorsDaily reconciliation of AR to GL, to identify any out-of-balance issues prior to month-end closingReview accounts for Profit and Loss Statement analysisUpdate InventoryIdentify and escalate issues to the manager in a timely mannerHandle ad hoc requestsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Knowledge of general financial and cost accountingExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailStrong verbal and written communication skillsGood Math SkillsStrong initiative and follow-up abilitiesProficient in Microsoft Excel, AS400, and Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to establish and maintain internal and external working relationshipsFurniture manufacturing knowledge is a plusExperience & Education Requirements:Ability to work onsiteBachelor's degree in accounting or related field requiredAt least 3 years of relevant experience requiredSymbiotic Services is representing this search on behalf of our client.
