Once completed oil is circulated through apress with earth material to remove the nickel and earth material and thendirecting it to a storage tank for evaluation. The Hydro Operator isresponsible for maintaining this process by reading charts/computer systems,taking several samples, and switching valves/controls so the oil/steam/gas isgoing to the appropriate areas. The Operators are responsible for cleaning thehydro area, replacing press screens and keeping the product moving in anefficient manner as well as sampling and labeling correctly. ResponsibilitiesSafety & Environmental Performance Identify high-risk safety/productivity issues and help to remedy them.Support full plant wide compliance with safety rules to further our goal of 0 accidents and encouragement of reporting and correcting near misses. Encourage employees to look for ways to improve safety and production processes.Prevention and timely reporting of any environmental issues.Adhere to GMP's and other work procedures as to assure product quality and consistency to our customers.Prevent injuries by encouraging employees to work safely Work Requirements Take samples from the converters and run either melt points and or RIMultitask between 2-3 different convertersKnow the correct amount and type of catalyst to use for each productMonitor the stg. tank levels Monitor filtration system closely to produce clean, finished productAdd the correct amount of filter medium and take the quality and/or finished sample to the lab for testingCommunicate with the powerhouse for raising or lowering the make on the gas plant when neededFollow all GMP's for maximum qualityCheck pumps and line settings to ensure that you are coming and going to the correct storagePerform any and all tasks assigned to you by any member of the management team who provided the task that is approved by your supervisor.Manually turn valves/switches on tanks and machines to start and stop oil flow on tanks inside and outside.Monitor flow rates of oil and read charts and computer screensTake samples to lab; Label properly, Record movements in ITS and OISUse forklift to dump full hoppers; Replace propane tanks on forkliftSwitch out the filters and unclog any products throughout the building as neededCost ControlReduce the amount of rework by participating in employee involvement, process improvement and adherence to process guidelinesEnsure work is completed to customers specificationsContribute to the effort in controlling costs and minimizing waste in your daily workAbout youHigh school diploma or GED with some aptitude in machines and industrial knowledge. Must be able to climb stairs frequently, bend and stoop, lift 50lbs frequently, and stand/walk for long periods of time.Recordkeeping, reading temperature gauges, monitoring storage volume and contents is required.
