We work with domestic and international partners who share our values and commitment to gender and social equality as well as giving back by partnering with foundations that directly benefit our employees and surrounding communities.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer Description of Duties Title: Design AssistantClassification: Non-Exempt Hourly Range*: $23.00 - $25.00/hourLocation: Van Nuys, CA (HQ)Schedule*: Hybrid, Monday through Friday 9:00AM-6:00PM (in office a minimum of 4 days/week, can be 5 days due to business needs) Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork with Design Director & Design Team for inspiration/design related tasks and special projects asneededAssist in research for seasonal concept development, fabrics, trims & colorAssist in creating & preparing Design presentations weekly and seasonallyManage, update, distribute, line-sheets & other cross functional documents while liaising between Designand Development TeamsName and number styles, as well as facilitate style Pass-Offs to Technical Design TeamResearch and name styles, seasonal colors, artworks and embroideries in a timely mannerCreate flats or construction detail sketches for Pass-Offs when necessaryCreate color CADS/embroidery layouts/assist with pitching colors for artworksManage communication of CADS/print placement/embroidery placement to Development teamthroughout the design processAssist in updating sketches as needed and keeping sketch folders orderly and up to dateWork on design and concept for updates to best-selling stylesAssist Design Team with organization and filing for vintage archive samples and submitsSupport Designers in creating BOMs and help manage component referencesBuild Collaborative relationships cross-functionally with Development Teams and beyondQualificationsDegree in apparel or fashion (2-4 year program)Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)Strong organizational skills and attention to product detailSketching skills requiredExperience or interest in Knitwear Design is encouraged but not requiredPattern/Technical Design knowledge Color sensitivityBase knowledge of fabrics, embellishments and wash/dye processesMeticulous attention to detail and organizationAble to take direction, while also working independently with minimal supervisionStrong follow-through to completion on all given tasksStrong planning and organization skills with a sense of priority for deadlines and attention to detailAbility to remain flexible and adaptable in a fast paced and rapidly growing companyStrong appetite for learning and working closely with cross-functional team membersAbility to foster an inclusive and respectful working environmentPhysical RequirementsMust be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodationPeriods sitting at a desk, typing, sketching and working on a computerAble to lift/move/push/pull objects up to 25 lbsAble to walk, sit and stand for periods of timeAble to operate equipment such as computers, copy machines, phonesMust be able to access various areas of a given locationTotal Rewards PackagePaid vacation, sick time, and holidaysA fun-filled, fast-paced work environmentHealthcare, Vision, Dental401k with company match* Compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.* The hybrid model may be rescinded at any time due to business needs or the company's discretion.Along with your resume, please include a link to your online portfolio (website, PDF, or shared drive) that highlights your most relevant work.
