Maintenance Mechanic IILocation: Dairy Manufacturing Facility, Clackamas, OR 97015Pay Rate: Up to $36.97 per hourEmployment Type: Contract with potential for extension and full-time conversionShift Options1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM2nd Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM3rd Shift (Graveyard): 10:00 PM - 6:30 AMAll shifts are 5 days per week, 8 hours per day.Candidates must be open to working at least one weekend day and overtime as required.**Looking for 5+ years experience**Looking for higher level Maintenance Mechanic that is self driven and has motivation!!Position OverviewMaintenance Mechanic II plays a critical role in supporting dairy manufacturing operations by ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable performance of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment. This position focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced, food production environment.Key ResponsibilitiesObserve and comply with all safety policies, GMP standards, Global Food Safety practices, and housekeeping requirementsPerform Lockout/Tagout procedures in accordance with safety regulationsTroubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant production equipment, including conveyors, compressors, chillers, boilers, wastewater systems, robots, VFDs, PLCs, and programmable controllersDiagnose complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and implement corrective solutionsExecute preventive maintenance based on established PM schedulesRespond promptly to maintenance requests and complete required reports, logs, and work ordersDismantle, rebuild, fabricate, and reassemble equipment and components as neededPerform mild and stainless steel welding, including sanitary welding applicationsMaintain plant equipment to maximize uptime, line speed, and operational efficiencyIdentify opportunities for operational improvements related to downtime, spoilage, and production flowTrain team members on equipment operation and safe work practicesCoordinate with vendors and contractors when necessaryManage spare parts inventory and ensure timely ordering of parts and servicesRead and interpret schematics, electrical diagrams, blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogsInvestigate recurring equipment failures and develop action plans to prevent repeat issuesMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work areaComplete special projects and perform additional duties as assigned by managementPhysical and Work RequirementsMust be at least 18 years of ageAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and frequently bend, stoop, twist, and turnManual dexterity, coordination, and good balance requiredComfortable working in a manufacturing and food production environmentTeam-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to safety and qualityQualifications and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED required5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environmentHands-on experience with mechanical and/or electrical repairWorking knowledge of fabrication, machine shop tools, hydraulics, and pneumaticsAbility to read and follow schematics, electrical diagrams, and blueprintsLME (Limited Maintenance Electrical) License preferredOSHA 10 and CPR certification preferredPrior experience operating pallet jacks or forkliftsPrevious forklift certification preferredWhy This OpportunityThis role offers long-term stability, competitive pay, exposure to advanced manufacturing systems, and the potential for full-time conversion.
