Construction Senior Estimator (Columbus, OH)

Position: Senior EstimatorReports to: Director, EstimatingLocation: Columbus, OhioPay Range: $100,000 - $120,000We consider several factors when preparing a compensation package for successful candidates.Superior is seeking a Senior Estimator who will be responsible for interpreting drawings, reading specifications, and conduct takeoff on certain items. The ideal candidate must have the willingness to learn new technology and estimating software, have strong technical and communication skills, and work well in a team environment. This role is based at our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.Key ResponsibilitiesReading and understanding of contract drawings and project specificationsPerform takeoff of electric items, consisting of light fixtures, branch power devices and fire alarm deviceWork with vendors and QA estimatesLead projects and coordinate and support with internal teams to ensure alignment of scopeConducts site visits to understand practical field installation requirementsWorks closely with project management team on change order pricingYour Character TraitsYou're very organized, great at prioritization, and have a strong attention to detailYou're a team player and feel comfortable collaborating with colleagues across all levels of the organizationYou have a an analytical mindset and understand how to problem solveYou have the ability to consistently meet tight deadlines and the willingness to learn new processes You're able to exercise confidentiality and discretion when dealing with sensitive information You demonstrate leadership by guiding others and providing clarity on what needs to be doneYou excel at training others in the correct processes and best practices for estimatingYour ExpertiseRequired: You have at least 7 years of experience in commercial construction estimatingBonus Points: You earned an Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or a related fieldBonus Points: You have experience using Accubid and/or BluebeamBonus Points: You have experience in electrical commercial constructionOur BenefitsWe offer a range of professional and personal perks that you can enjoy as a member of Superior.
