Job Summary: To ensure that pipe, fittings, flanges and valves meet the requirements of the customer as defined by the customer's purchase order, the customers scope of work, and/or the customer's special instructions. Primary Duties & Responsibilities:Quality AssuranceMeasure Critical DimensionsAssess and Inspect ALL partsLocate and properly read OEM part supplements, to properly locate replacement parts.Read and interpret diagnostic graphs;Data entry, reporting and analysis as requiredRead drawings of various valve parts;Pull and inspect all parts;Efficient utilization of precision machinist tools.Efficient utilization Quality tools such as Positive Material Identification (PMI) machine, Ultrasonic Thickness Gauges, Paint Thickness Gauges, etc.Learn metallurgy regarding ASTM codes and material numbers for the type of materials we work with and work with personnel to use the codes in the normal routine of work processesLearn all Quality Procedures (QP) and Work Instructions (WI). At a minimum, be aware what QP and WI covers any given issue in the Production processLearn the production processes and company work flow including Inside Sales, Services Coordinators, Customer Service Representatives, Order Entry, and Shipping & ReceivingNon-Destructive TestingSuccessfully complete Non-destructive testing training & certification for VT & PT inspectionsMaintain all certifications and requirements for Non-destructive testing for both VT & PTClean & Prepare fittings for NDT inspections as required by the standardsCommunicate with the welding department for repair of fittingsPositional Requirements & Qualifications:Education & ExperienceHS Education or GED Equivalent a plusPrevious Quality Assurance and Warehousing experience a plusSkills & AblitiesBe knowledgeable of company quality proceduresBe knowledgeable in valve testing standardsBe knowledgeable in the ASME and National Board standardsBasic mechanical aptitude including, but not limited to, basic hand and power tool knowledgeRecognize major valve, pipe, fitting and flange types and configurationsOrganized and detail-orientedSafety and Quality-mindedBasic mechanical knowledgeExcellent communication skills, both written and oral.Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose systemic problems. Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and GoogleWarehouse equipment knowledge a plus (Order picker, forklift, Combi-Lift, pallet jack, etc.)Must be able to travel and have a clear driving record in accordance to company driving guidelinesClear background check and drug/alcohol screeningEssential Physical Functions:Lifting: up to 50 poundsAdjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions Lift and carry: 50 pounds for 100 feetBending, stooping, walking and climbing stairsAscending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another Communicating with others to exchange information Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers Operating machinery and/or power tools Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assignedRequired physical ability if mandated by customer or regulatory requirements
