Job DescriptionYour RoleThe Transformation Platform Strategy & Operations team is responsible for defining and governing the technical architecture that enables scalable, secure, and data-driven customer engagement across the organization. The Principal Salesforce Architect will report to the Senior Manager of Product Management. In this role you will successfully design and manage the delivery of complex Salesforce solutions for Blue Shield of California. While this role requires broad platform knowledge across the enterprise, there is a specific and critical emphasis on Data Cloud, Marketing Cloud Engagement, and Marketing Cloud Personalization including deep knowledge in APIs, Apex, Lightning, mobile development technologies, and integration/ETL technologies.ResponsibilitiesYour WorkIn this role, you will: Mentor, create, and manage ongoing key personas development for product areas. Exhibits natural and intuitive user empathy. Mentor, determine, and analyze KPIs at a product level to establish experience success, failures, and next steps through iteration. Conduct secondary market research and apply toward product strategy. Effectively organize and lead brainstorming sessions. Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, deliverables, and set and manage expectations, specifically regarding data unification and customer journey strategies. Translate business requirements into well-architected solutions that best leverage the Salesforce platform, with a focus on activating data through Data Cloud and Marketing Cloud. Design and document data ingestion, harmonization, and unification strategies within Data Cloud to create a single source of truth. Architect real-time personalization solutions using Marketing Cloud Personalization to deliver next-best-actions across web, mobile, and email channels. Lead technical design sessions, architect and document technical solutions aligned with Blue Shield's business objectives and identify gaps between the current and desired end states. Provide oversight and governance of Salesforce projects. Follow and help define coding standards (including AMPScript, SSJS, and SQL). Lead code reviews during projects to ensure quality and appropriate design patterns are followed. Ensure seamless connectivity between Salesforce Core (CRM), Data Cloud, and Marketing Cloud Engagement to support closed-loop reporting and automated journey triggers.QualificationsYour Knowledge and ExperienceMastery-level knowledge of job area and deep product knowledge with 8+ years of experience in Product Management, Management Consulting, or Entrepreneurship required. BA/BS in Business, Finance, Economics, Public Health, or Information Technology. Graduate degree (e.g. MBA) is highly desirable; Certification in area of expertise preferred (e.g. PMP, Lean, SAFE, CSPO). Deep, practical experience with Salesforce Data Cloud, including defining Data Model Objects (DMOs), Data Stream configuration, and Identity Resolution rules. Expert-level understanding of Marketing Cloud Engagement (Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Contact Builder) and Marketing Cloud Personalization (Templates, Campaigns, Sitemap development). Understanding of systems architecture and ability to design scalable performance-driven solutions. Familiarity with platform authentication patterns (SAML, SSO, OAuth) and Marketing Cloud Connect configuration. Strong understanding of environment management, release management, code versioning best practices, and deployment methodologies. Active Salesforce certifications are preferred, specifically: Salesforce Data Cloud Consultant, Marketing Cloud Consultant, or Marketing Cloud Personalization Accredited Professional. Expert level experience defining the system architecture landscape, identifying gaps between current and desired end-states, and delivering a comprehensive solution that will enable achievement of the desired business outcomes.
