About the role: We are seeking a senior engineering manager to lead and centralize software development across all manufacturing and test operations. This role will define and scale the software platforms that support our global production environment, driving efficiency, quality, and innovation. You will unify dispersed software initiatives, establish a cohesive architecture, and integrate advanced capabilities such as AI/ML. What you'll achieve: Strategic Leadership & Centralization: Define and execute a unified software strategy for all manufacturing and test engineering, with emphasis on centralization, standardization, and global alignment. Consolidate multiple software efforts into a cohesive, high performing organization across US and international teams. Establish a unified architecture and technology roadmap that supports scalable, reliable, and secure global manufacturing. Implement best practices for development, deployment, operations, and lifecycle management. Manage budgets, resources, and project portfolios to align with business priorities. Champion innovation, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence. Team Leadership & International Management: Build, lead, and develop a global software organization, including overseas engineers, architects, and data specialists. Provide strong technical leadership and career development across geographically distributed teams. Foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and cross functional alignment across time zones and cultures. Core Software Development & Integration: Oversee development and maintenance of scalable automation for test program creation, deployment, and optimization. Lead the integration of AI/ML into manufacturing and test workflows, including predictive maintenance, yield and test-time optimization, anomaly detection, and process control. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with hardware, test, operations, quality, NPI, and IT teams to define requirements and deliver integrated solutions. Communicate strategy, progress, and risk effectively to executive leadership. Engage with external technology partners to evaluate and adopt best-in-class solutions. About you: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred. 12+ years in software development with experience in manufacturing, test, or industrial automation. 6+ years managing software teams, including international or distributed teams. Proven success leading large scale software centralization or standardization efforts. Experience building software for test automation, MES, industrial automation, or data platforms. Hands on experience applying AI/ML in manufacturing or industrial environments. Technical Skills: Proficiency in relevant languages (e.g., Python, C#, C++, Java, LabVIEW). Strong background in SQL/NoSQL databases and data warehousing. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps practices (CI/CD, Git). Knowledge of ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit learn) and data analytics tools. Leadership Skills: Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills across global teams. Proven ability to drive change, manage complex programs, and deliver results in fast-paced environments. The full base pay range for this role is between $225,500 and $338,500, except in the San Francisco Bay Area where the range is between $237,000 and $356,000.
