IISD Swimming Instructor (26-27 SY) - Part Time

$17/hr- noncertified $25/hr- certified TEA educator Applicants, please list all aquatics experience and certifications in your resume or intent letter. Job Responsibilities: * Instruct all swim lesson participants in the Swim Safe program. * Maintain a high level of safety in his/her own class. * Work hours as scheduled which includes beginning and ending class on time; remaining after class to answer participant or teacher questions, and/or to clean up supplies. * Instruct and evaluate students participating in the Swim Safe program. * Submit completed progress reports, skill sheets and attendance information on time. * Attend mandatory orientation, meetings and training sessions as scheduled. * Act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency. * Present a professional appearance and attitude, and maintain a high standard of instruction at all times. * All other duties as assigned and appropriate. Qualifications * Knowledge of and the ability to demonstrate skills in swim lesson instruction. * Ability to demonstrate skills as required for class content and use teaching aids such as kickboards, diving rings, lifejackets, etc. * Ability to work independently with energy and enthusiasm. * Ability to positively interact with all types of swimmers, including those who may be fearful in the water. * Previous aquatic experience is preferred. * American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification is preferred but not required.
