Land Survey Intern - Summer 2026

We are looking for a dedicated Survey Intern to grow with our collaborative team and work on a variety of land development projects. * Perform field surveying tasks under the direction of a Party Chief. * Operate and adjust surveying instruments including GPS, total stations, and levels. * Produce quality raw field data with clear and concise field notes with attention to detail. * Work outdoors in variable weather and environmental conditions. * Perform some office duties including data download, field notes, keeping good receipt records for expense reports, mileage logs, and daily safety logs. * Follow Jacobs's safety protocols. * Preserve and enhance the Jacobs brand through knowledge and experience, presenting yourself as a professional at all times. This is a field position that has the following physical demands over a 10-hour period daily when working onsite. * Requires physical exertion in various conditions of climate and hilly and hard asphalt/concrete terrain. * Requires long periods of standing, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities. * Requires recurring lifting of moderately heavy items (~50 lbs.) such as surveying equipment and related surveying field items. * Requires general physical and mental characteristics and abilities leading to above-average agility and dexterity, adaptability, to different field conditions, knowledge of safety protocols and procedures * Out of town travel will be required (approximately 80%) * high school diploma * Valid driver's license Ideally, you'll also have: * Experience in Leica and Trimble surveying equipment * An understanding of GDOT coding list * UAV operation and remote pilot license * Experience in locating and marking underground utilities * Experience in routing surveys, railroad, topographic mapping, laser scanning, or other infrastructure surveys * Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT) Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
