Your work will directly support student success.POSITION SUMMARYSubstitute teachers work on an as-needed basis during the school year to fill in for classroom teachers in a variety of grade levels and content areas.Assignments vary by school and student need. To stay active in the sub pool, accepting two jobs per month is generally expected. If availability is limited, please keep us in the loop.Job DescriptionsSee the attached file for the certificated substitute teacher job description for an overview of responsibilities and expectations.Note: Substitute teachers are not required to hold CPR/First Aid/AED certification.This position is for individuals who are available and willing to accept substitute teaching assignments, often on short notice.PAY RATES Certificated substitute pay rates are set by the 2024 2026 Snohomish Education Association (SEA) Collective Bargaining Agreement and associated Memorandum of Agreement. Daily Rate: $215.00Long-Term (21 44 consecutive days): $230.00Extended Long-Term (45+ consecutive days): $260.00Long-term rates apply only to assignments where the substitute is endorsed in the subject/grade level to meet certification requirements.SCHEDULEThis is an on-call, as-needed position. Assignment times and shift lengths vary by school and role. Full-day assignments: Typically 7.5 hoursHalf-day assignments: Typically 3.75 hoursSome assignments may be shorter than a full day if the teacher's position is less than 1.0 FTE.Fridays are shortened district-wide due to Professional Growth Fridays (PGF). Most Friday schedules are approximately 2 hours shorter than Monday Thursday.Example schedules (start and end times may vary slightly by school):Elementary: ~8:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Mon Thurs); ~8:00 AM - 1:30 PM (Fri)Middle/High School: ~7:00 AM - 2:30 PM (Mon Thurs); ~7:00 AM - 12:30 PM (Fri)Actual hours for each job will be listed in Frontline when assignments are posted.
