Committed to fueling excellence and always imagining more, while fostering a supportive culture, one where we elevate each other and act responsibly.Job Purpose: To further Sony Music Publishing's place, leadership, and expertise in the Music Publishing IndustryWhat You'll Do: (job responsibilities)Under the supervision of team management, and in conjunction with internal and external business partners, the Coordinator, Copyright will:Build relationships with business partners [such as The Orchard], SMP local offices, and other music industry professionals to service a rapidly growing roster of writers and songsWorking closely with and taking direction from the leadership team, affiliated "local" offices, and external business partnersDay-to-day entry and maintenance of business partners' client and song dataProvide research support and basic evaluation and analysis to assist with songwriter split disputes and administrative counterclaimsCoordinate with responsible parties to obtain confirmed share(s) for split deliveries and amendments such as:internal SMP teams: A&R, Creative Admin, Licensing, Income Tracking, Royalties, and Global SMP Affiliatesexternal business partners: The Orchard, performing rights organizations (PROs), collective management organizations (CMOs), record labels, and other income sourcesAssist in royalty payments (Cash Out) and royalty reporting.Utilizing the Microsoft 365 platform with Power Automate, MS Lists, Excel and Copilot.Assist in developing and testing system and workflow enhancementsCoordinate and support special projects and growth initiatives to meet evolving business requirementsReview PRO databases, reports and song charts to ensure accurate and timely registrationsWho You Are: (skills and experience required)Prior internships and/or other music publishing administration experience is helpful.
