Job DescriptionMGS has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Automation Engineer to join our MGS Richfield team. As an Automation Engineer at MGS, you will support the collaboration between Plastic Injection Molding machines, and directly or indirectly connected Automation Cells. This could include end of arm tooling (EOAT), robots, automated assembly machinery, and may require providing training and input for improvement processes at the MGS Richfield Manufacturing facility. Now is your chance to work as part of a new project development launch for a large, highly regarded healthcare customer on a program that that makes a difference to our team, our customers and their patients!Below are additional duties and responsibilities:Serve as a good role model to employees for safe work practices and behavior by conducting yourself professionally, keeping in mind your own safety and the safety of others. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).Follow proper gowning procedures to maintain Clean Room cleanliness.Install robots, programs EOA's, and set up of automation systems for new tools or processes.Collaborates with OEM's and customers in implementation of Automation Cells, including performing and documenting test cases, FATs, SATs, and engineering studies.Support press robot issues by troubleshooting, solving, and making needed improvements.Perform robot preventative maintenance tasks and repairs to maintain press robots.Help maintain proper spare parts inventory to support all Automation and robotic Cells.Quote and order parts needed to make needed repairs to Automation and robots.Support Automation cell production by troubleshooting, solving technical issues, making repairs, improvements and document this work on the Cell Technical Activity Logs.Perform training with personnel and participate in developing work instructions.Supports the team and assists in training other Automation technicians.Document daily work using the work order system.Communicate Automation cell and Press robot repairs and adjustments to the Automation team.Always look for ways to improve and promote Quality. Identify unsafe equipment and ensure that equipment operates safely prior to line start up.Learn and master all necessary areas of the quality system.Set up robots, EOAT, conveyors, de-gators, secondary equipment, etc.Any other duties as assigned. To learn more about MGS, please visit .Experience and SkillsA qualified Automation Engineer candidate would fulfill these requirements:High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Completion of an accredited two-year technical college program, or a four-year university program, in a related field of study is preferred.2-5 years of experience in related field is preferred.Fork truck and Lock out Tag out Certification is preferred.Familiar working with conventional manufacturing equipment such as milling machines, lathes, saws, hand tools etc.Toolmaker/Machine Builder experience is a plus.MGS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.Job BenefitsTo learn more about MGS Mfg.
